The Governor's Half-Blind Scarred Bride by Faye Sonja is a historical romance. The story is good, the writing is lacking. This book needed a good editing. It could have also used more research. The author had the main character having a shower in 1873, after 1 minute of internet searching, I found that, no, showers in the US came about after 1873. Tessa was raised by a woman that used her for work in a diner (also questionable for 1873). She sends a letter to apply to be the wife of Jonathan Banks. Jonathan and Tara's story is rocky and a fairly quick, clean (no sex) read. The Governor's Half-Blind Scarred Bride is book 1 of the Brides of El Paso Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
