Jax: A 'Not-Quite' Puma Love Story by Julia Mills is a fun and fast paranormal romance.  Ms. This is a very quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time.  Mills has delivered a book that is well-written and loaded with phenomenal characters.  Jax is a retired Marine living with a pride of shifters.  He's knocked down and scratched when he is going for help to free an animal stuck in the brambles.  When he goes home from the hospital with a broken leg and stitches he spots someone in his yard.  Pearl is a shifter and hadn't meant to hurt Jax.  Jax and Pearl's story is loaded with drama, humor, action and sizzle.  I enjoyed this fun book and look forward to reading more from Julia Mills in the future.  Jax: A 'Not-Quite' Puma Love Story is book 4 of the Not Quite' Series but can be read as a standalone.  This is a complete story, not a cliff-hanger.
